John C. Treacy, executive vice president and chief financial officer, is responsible for all aspects of financial reporting, analysis and consulting; forecasting/budgeting; treasury and investments; facilities and vendor management for the company.
Mr. Treacy and the Collins finance team also provide various financial consulting services, including: assisting clients with rating agency relationships and financial ratings; capital adequacy and reinsurance financial impact modeling; counterparty security analyses; peer group research; reinsurance accounting and risk transfer analyses; and merger and acquisition advisory support.
Professional Background
Prior to Collins, Mr. Treacy served as senior vice president and corporate controller at Zurich North America, the U.S. reinsurance operation of Zurich Financial Services.
He joined Zurich North America in 2005, after 16 years with The St. Paul Companies and, following a merger in 2004, The Travelers. During that tenure he held a variety of finance positions, including senior vice president and corporate controller. His responsibilities included financial and operational accounting, reporting and analysis. He also served as director of ceded reinsurance operations.
At both The Travelers and Zurich, Mr. Treacy led numerous quality initiatives to improve various financial accounting and operational processes, as well as the global implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
Between 1996 and 2004, he assisted with due diligence for more than 15 acquisitions or divestitures and assumed key leadership roles in 10 financial and operational integrations. During that period, he also was involved with various complex reinsurance and debt/capital transactions and disclosures. In 2002, he led St. Paul's Finance team in the $1 billion initial public offering of Platinum Holdings, Inc., formerly St. Paul Re.
Mr. Treacy began his career with the public accounting firm of Ernst and Young.
