Vibhu R. Sharma, executive vice president and chief operating officer, is responsible for all aspects of corporate operations, including, Administrative Services, Client Claims and Accounting Services, Contract Wording, Human Resources, Information Technology, training and marketing for the organization.
Professional Background
Before joining Collins, Mr. Sharma was a partner with 17 years experience at the international certified public accounting firm, KPMG LLP. In that position, he was the audit partner and reviewing partner for several insurance and reinsurance clients, as well as director of the Midwest Insurance Practice. His clients included a wide range of insurers and reinsurers, from start-up operations to multi-billion dollar public companies in the U.S., Bermuda and Europe.
During his tenure at KPMG, Mr. Sharma was involved in the initial public offerings of Employers Reinsurance Corporation (1995), Platinum Underwriters Holdings Ltd. (2002) and Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited (2003), as well as secondary offerings for the Crop Growers Corporation (1994-1995) and The St. Paul Companies (numerous, from the mid-1990s through 2003).
Mr. Sharma served as an instructor for KPMG's national training programs and was a frequent speaker at KPMG and industry-sponsored programs on insurance accounting, reporting and regulatory matters.
Mr. Sharma holds a bachelor's degree from Southern Methodist University and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants.
